In Need of Update

Yknow I purchased this game back when it wasnt free to play and it was fun for the first couple of times, but the campaign is extremely short there hasnt been many updates. Right now when I launch the app, a notice appears telling me theres an update, but this is obviously a glitch because there is no update. Its honestly insulting enough when a game you pay for goes F2P without any compensation for those who supported it beforehand, but the fact that this game has pretty much been abandoned by the developers is the most upsetting. Is it really that hard to add progression rewards? Like every 5 levels (from completing the game) permanently gain a gadget? Or maybe make a few new campaigns?
